Does History Not Matter Anymore?

Verse 1:

Have you heard the stories?

Did you study history?

When men were persecuted over issues of belief?

Rulers made laws to demand conformity,

and to keep the ones who questioned on their knees…

while the nation lies complacently deceived.

Chorus:

Would you ever think this age could see such insanity?

Could it ever be?

Do you think it has all been said and done?

Or have you heard the whispers and the delusion that’s begun?

Or does history not matter anymore?

Can you close your eyes to the past realities?

Will this generation learn from yesterday?

Can you passively stand by while the world is swept away…

by a form of unity?

Verse 2:

There’s a great delusion in the minds of those who seek

to repair the damage that afflicts society.

A cry to come together,

reunite the church and state,

and establish peace before it is too late,

while masking over selfishness and hate.

Chorus:

Would you ever think this age could see, such insanity?

Could it ever be?

Do you think it’s all been said and done?

Have you heard the whisper, the delusion that’s begun?

Or does history not matter anymore?

Can you close your eyes to the past reality?

Will this generation learn from yesterday?

Can you passively stand by, while the world is swept away…

by a form of unity?
